Directions
How to Reach Timpanogos Cave National Monument
Route from I-15
Commence your journey to Timpanogos Cave National Monument from Interstate 15. Take Exit 284, aptly named Alpine-Highland exit, and steer eastwards onto State Highway 92. Continue your picturesque drive for approximately ten miles (16km) to reach the monument.
Route from UT 40 or U.S. 189
If you're traveling on UT 40 or U.S. 189, follow UT 189 through the scenic Provo Canyon. Head west on Orem 800 North (UT 52) and continue for about 2.4 miles before making a right turn onto State Street UT-89. After traveling for another 3.8 miles, make your way onto Pleasant Grove 100 East (UT 146).
Stay on this road for nearly five miles, during which it will morph into Canyon Road. This path leads you directly to the mouth of the American Fork Canyon. Make a right turn up the American Fork Canyon to find the visitor center eagerly awaiting your arrival.

Weather Information
Although inside the caves its always 43-48 F, temperatures on the cave trail can range from the 30s up to above 100 degrees F, depending on time of year. Carrying drinking water is a necessity, especially in summer. In the mountains, weather sometimes presents interesting challenges. The cave and cave trail do not close due to rain, unless that rain is heavy enough to bring rockfall. They will close due to high winds/rockfall, or in lightning storms. Call the visitor center if you have specific concerns.
